Flight Departures at Rhodes Airport
Rhodes International Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Greece, having over 5,300,000 passengers arriving at or departing from the airport. The terminal there is in two separate buildings which are connected with a corridor. When departing from Rhodes International Airport, you will first check-in and drop your baggage on the ground floor, before heading to the first floor for passenger screening, gates and shops. There are no air bridges at this airport, so courtesy buses are used for boarding.
Renovations are currently under way at both terminals. Among the list of services being updated are the toilets, air conditioning and the check-in facilities. At Rhodes International you can find all necessary services, such as cafes, restaurants, recently-refurbished duty free stores and VIP halls. There is also a police station, airline and handlers offices, a medical clinic.
So that you can have a relaxing wait for your flight, there are 2 independent lounges – Skyserv and Filoxenia Lounge (by Swissport Greece). Large airlines like British Airways, TUI and Thompson are not operating their own business lounges directly but you’ll be able to pay to use the airport’s lounges.
Skyserv Lounge
Skyserv’s Business Lounge in Rhodes Airport is in the departure hall, at the Schengen area, which is after Security Control. If you should wish to be escorted to the lounge, you should visit the SkyServ Sales Desk, opposite Check-in zone 21.
In the lounge you’ll be able to find a buffet of snacks, including cheese and ham sandwiches and cake, and a range of beverages, such as juices, sodas, water (sparkling if you prefer), a choice of coffees and fresh milk. Or, if you’d like something stronger before your flight, alcoholic beverages are also available, including beer, vodka, a range of wines, gin, rum, whisky, brandy and ouzo. Other than that, you can also access the following services free of charge: Wi-Fi, numerous magazines and newspapers.
Skyserv’s Business Lounge is open every day from 8 am until 8 pm in high season but closes from October 27th to March 31st. As it’s a fairly small lounge, there aren’t any sleep facilities. To reserve, you can call them on +30 22410 83264
Filoxenia Lounge
Swissport Greece’s Filoxenia Lounge can be found on the second floor of the Intra Schengen Departure Hall, after you go through security. The lounge can also be accessed by Extra Schengen passengers. However, it’s a 7-minute walk from the departure gate, as you’ll need to return past Passport Control. It’s easier to visit the Swissport Office, which is opposite Check-in counter 30. From there a member of staff can escort you to the Lounge.
At Filoxenia, you’ll be able to enjoy the ambient, air-conditioned space and utilise their facilities. It is fully accessible for disabled people. If you need to have a business meeting, there are conference facilities available. Here there is free Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines for you to read, a TV and Flight Information Monitor. On top of this, you can take advantage of the free non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
Filoxenia Lounge operates every day from 8 am until midnight, from mid-May until the end of October. For the rest of the year (low season), the lounge remains closed. The Lounge doesn’t yet offer any sleep facilities. For more information, contact the lounge directly at rho.lounge@swissport.gr or +30 22410 83261.
